  1846 Church formed at the Temperance Hall, Pasture Lane
  1851 Religious Census = "Independent Chapel" erected 1845, entire building and Sunday School
  1860 First church erected on Gisburn Road between Pasture Lane and Halstead Lane. This building was later used as the Council School 
  1880 New church built on Ingham Street

  1849 Began when some members at Blacko Wesleyans (BAR.WM.02) were expelled and they were joined by some members of the Wesleyan Church in Barrowford (BAR.WM.01)
  1875 Members found the chapel at Blacko too far away and so opened a Mission Room in the Temperance Hall on Pasture Lane
  1880 A new chapel opened higher up Pasture Lane
     ?   Closed
     ?   Demolished & bungalows built on the site. The Date Stone "Independent Methodist Chapel 1880" is now in the grounds of Ebenezer Chapel, Gisburn Road, Blacko (BAR.WM.02)

Brief History
  1779 A Methodist Society was in Barrowford
  1800 First Chapel built, opened the following year - the only place of worship in the village
  1813 Enlarged
  1834 Plaque on the wall states .. "Wesleyan Methodist Sunday School built by subscription 1834", now a private house by the river called River House - see below
  1851 Religious Census = building erected before 1800 used only as a chapel
  1860 Enlarged
  1879 Enlarged further
  1890 Opening of new (second chapel) built next to the "Old Chapel", which became the Sunday School
  1959 The 160 year old chapel demolished
  1962 Tower on new chapel declared unsafe
  1972 The Old Sunday School, by the river, made into private house - 'River House, 144A Gisburn Road .. see plaque on wall
  1990 The second chapel pulled down and a third chapel built on the site. The second chapel was rebuilt in Hachioji, Japan and renamed the Grand Victoria Chapel. It is currently used there as a wedding venue
